Perhaps best known for throwing one of the most raucous and well-attended block parties of 2011, complete with a free concert from Ozomatli, Amalia’s combines innovative contemporary Mexican cuisine with an upbeat, urban atmosphere. The Amalia’s menu is packed flavor, color and variety (from pork to chicken, seafood, beef and tofu). Try the Jitomate Relleno appetizer – baked red tomatoes stuffed with spinach, garlic, pecans and cotija cheese. For dinner, explore entrees like the Relleno de Langosta, a pasilla pepper stuffed with sautéed lobster, veggies and cilantro with rice and pepper-orange sauce.
