I think that the Bend City Council is against a Bend mayoral election. I think that if the Bend City Council wanted a Bend mayoral election then they would put it on the ballot and let the people of Bend decide if they want a Bend mayoral election. They have not done this because they do not want the people to have a say in who represents them.

The people of Bend shouldn’t vote for anyone on the city council until that person publicly states that he or she will put the issue of the Bend mayoral elections in the hands of voters as soon as possible. -Charles Webster Bear, Bend
