Happy St. Patrick's Day: The revival of the Harp Hall Social Club

Almost everyone in our offices remembered it was St. Patrick's Day today and most of us wore green. Others wore red or blue, but that's OK...if you hate having a good time.

Damn near every bar in town has some sort of happening tonight whether that's Blowin' Smoke at the Summit or DJ Bryne 1 at Velvet and everything in between. Then, of course, there's the big extravaganza at McMenamins and the sold-out Brandi Carlile show at the Tower.

Local Middle School Student Takes 3rd Place in CSPAN Video Contest

In January, Source staffer Anne Pick wrote a feature story about the CSPAN StudentCam contest, which put cameras in the hands of local students and asked them to put together a video that dealt with pressing national issues.

Bend For Haiti Concert Announces Lineup

It's been in the works for more than a month now, but the lineup has been finalized for the Bend For Haiti concert to take place at the Tower Theatre on March 19. The show is the culminating effort led by Reed Thomas Lawrence, the local pop rocker who will come out of relative live show dormancy to perform at the gig.

One remaining local newscast remains in Central Oregon as of today, that being the folks over at KTVZ now that KOHD, the local ABC affiliate, has announced today that it will no longer produce a news program.
